Always (Lolu Menayed Remix)

Once again, we’re very happy to be shining a light on the excellent underground house music talent coming out of South America, this time with Argentinian DJ / artist and producer, Lolu Menayed's reworking of "Always" by Matt Tolfrey, featuring the blissed-out vocals of Tim Fuller. This is our third consecutive release from a South American producer, and Lolu’s remix truly makes her & the SA scene proud. The original track, released in 2021 saw Matt Tolfrey's penchant for the less obvious and more curious sounds in house music, paired perfectly with Tim Fuller's deep, funk-fuelled vocals with the collaboration resulting in a stripped-back, deep house heater. Along with a suitably raw house remix by long-time MFF conspirator, Mark Farina, the release had major props from Seth Troxler (@ Fabric,) Luciano, Jamie Jones, Severino, Walker & Royce and Carl Craig. Lolu was also a huge fan of the record, with the track becoming a big moment in her sets, so it was a natural progression to ask her to remix it. "This remix comes from a place of pure fandom as I have been playing MFF's music for years and years. The challenge grew when I realized that another one of my major influences, Mark Farina, had also remixed the track! My vision for the remix was that I wanted the elements to sound much more organic than in my other tracks and I also wanted the pronounced bass, along with Tim Fuller’s amazing vocals, locked in through the track, to create an extraordinary moment for the dancefloor” Lolu Menayed is a multifaceted artist, excelling as a DJ, producer, and the founder of two record labels. From a young age, she has been influenced by and connected to house music and her mixes feature various nuances and combinations of tracks from the '90s and 2000s. Lolu is leaving an indelible mark in some of South America’s most prominent clubs, thanks to her distinctive musical character and personality and solidifying her position as a cutting-edge artist in the Argentine electronic scene. Throughout her career, she has also managed to expand her international following, performing at festivals and clubs worldwide and sharing the stage with the likes of Sven Väth, Sidney Charles, Cuartero, Nastia, Peggy Gou, Toman, Butch and Prunk.
