Luke Solomon

Co-founder of Music For Freaks; one half of Freaks; co-founder of Classic Music Company

Luke Solomon began DJing in the early 1990s at Middlesex University, where he met Justin Harris. In 1995 he co-founded the influential Classic Music Company with Chicago house legend Derrick Carter, a label that introduced the world to artists like DJ Sneak, Tiefschwarz and Isolée. Alongside running Classic, Solomon built the Freaks project with Harris and launched Music For Freaks in 1999. His solo work spans labels including Crosstown Rebels, Rekids (debut album The Difference Engine, 2008) and Defected, where he now holds a senior role having revitalised Classic Music Company under their umbrella. Solomon has also written and produced with artists well outside house music's usual orbit, including collaborators from the pop world.
